Thank you, Honor Flight: going and homecoming, were breathtaking
I had the privilege of traveling with my father on the 11th Central Valley Honor Flight last week.
He is a Korean War vet and was very moved seeing the different memorials and especially, the Korean War Memorial. The trip to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and seeing the grave site of Audie Murphy were also highlights for my dad.
But the welcome home these veterans received when they returned was breath taking.
Thank you to the people who came to the airport and gave the veterans of the “Forgotten War” a welcome home they have deserved for 63 years. This was truly “one last tour with honor” for my father. I would also like to express my appreciation to the citizens of the Valley who donated money to Honor Flight and made this experience possible.
Thank you to the volunteers who run Central Valley Honor Flight. They are first-class people who deserve our support. Their passion, enthusiasm, and love for veterans, is so genuine and deep that it showed in every aspect of this trip.
