Thanks, NRA, for local rifle club improvements

The Friends of the National Rifle Association committee’s purpose is to distribute funds raised through annual dinners and donations from local businesses and individuals. These funds benefit local groups and clubs whose purpose is to further interest, knowledge and participation in shooting-sports activities.

A 2016 recipient of a $38,000 NRA Foundation grant is the Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club (FRPC) at 15687 Auberry Road in Clovis, on 222 acres. Centrally located, it provides a convenient place for shooters from all of California. Last year an estimated 35,000 – 40,000 shooters used the club’s wide variety of ranges.

The NRA Grant funded the installation of a cement block wall in the pits on Range 8, the pistol silhouette and high-power range. This range also benefits groups: Boy Scouts, Navy Sea Cadets, Young Marines, California Junior High Power Rifle Team, Clovis Police Department and Swat Team, Fresno County Sheriffs and Swat Team, Marine Reserves and Fresno County Probation.

This multi-phase project included extensive work has been a cumulative effort of many individuals.

FRPC members and all who will benefit from the improved range would like to say “Thank you, Friends of the NRA.”
