Jesus does not take sides, he takes over
Nicholas Kristof (Sept. 8 opinion) could not have selected the title “What religion would Jesus join?” and be taken seriously.
Jesus does not take sides, he takes over. He is not a “founder” of a religion, he brought the kingdom of God to earth in a covenant relationship with humanity. The failings of Christians to emulate him are only relevant to show how much Jesus is needed in every life.
Jesus cannot be compared to mere men as Mr. Kristof insists. Most of all, Jesus is not a pawn for Mr. Kristof’s political games. The proper understanding of who Jesus is will never lead to true Christianity ever being “the establishment.”
