California has been enduring one of the worst stretches of gas-price hikes in memory. According to AAA, as of Friday, Fresno County’s average price for a gallon of unleaded gas was $5.54. In Merced County, the average price was $5.56.
Thankfully, prices in the San Joaquin Valley tend to be lower than overall price for California. The statewide average Friday was $5.72. The national average, by comparison, stood at $4.33.
