Take close look at Trump’s political tactics

Anyone who has ever read “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” by William L. Shirer (Simon & Schuster, 1960) will immediately understand the Fresno State student newspaper’s cover article. The parallels of Donald Trump’s rise in popularity and Adolf Hitler’s political tactics and rise to power in the 1932 German election are clear as crystal.

I have broached this subject over the last several months with anyone who has been willing to listen. Hitler’s and Joseph Goebbels’ one-line phrases, promises, twisted truths and outright lies, Brownshirt ruffians ejecting non-followers from rallies and fervent hysteria were all part of the political tactics found in Hitler’s winning the election that was just a step in the nazification of Germany.
