On Friday at 12:05 p.m. the NWS San Diego CA released a high surf advisory valid from Sunday 5 p.m. until Tuesday 11 p.m. for San Diego County Coastal Areas and Orange County Coastal.

"Large breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet with sets up to 9 feet at south or southwest facing beaches," can be expected according to the NWS. "South swell 4 to 5 feet coming from 180 to 200 degrees with a period of 13 seconds will generate high surf, primarily for south-facing beaches. Tides will generally be at or below 5.5 feet, but localized areas of beach erosion and minor tidal overflow may occur when combining with the high surf. Swell will lessen by early Wednesday with falling surf."

"Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion," explains the NWS. "Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions."

This advisory is in effect until Tuesday at 11 p.m.
