The latest winter storm to hit the Sierra Nevada will bring minimal rain in the central San Joaquin Valley.

Fresno is expected to see one-quarter to one-half inch of rainfall. Madera, Visalia, Five Points and Porterville could see about one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch, according to the National Weather Service in Hanford.

The majority of the precipitation will fall Sunday morning.

But snow levels are expected to drop to around 1,000 feet Sunday night and snowfall totals during a storm that is expected to last through early Monday morning could hit 24 to 30 inches at Shaver Lake, 18 to 24 inches at Yosemite Valley, Giant Grove and Lodgepole and 12 to 18 inches at Tioga Pass and Mammoth Lakes.

Mariposa and Oakhurst could see one to two inches of snowfall.

There is a 98% chance Shaver Lake will see eight inches or more of snow, with a 94% chance at Yosemite Valley and an 89% chance at Giant Grove and Lodgepole.

The snowfall is expected to impact travel on Highways 41, 140 and 198.
