The Fresno region can expect two more storm fronts to move in beginning Wednesday.

About one-quarter of an inch of rain was expected to hit the streets by late Monday morning, said Antoinette Serrato, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford. She characterized the day’s precipitation as a light drizzle that might continue through the day before clearing out in the evening.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny, with highs on both days in the mid to low 50s and lows in the 40s.

The stronger storm arriving Wednesday is expected to bring at least an inch of rain to the area, with rainfall continuing Thursday. That could push the region’s seasonal rainfall total, which stood Monday at 5.42 inches, past the 7-inch mark. The normal total for the rain season from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30 is 10.99 inches; Fresno could go past the 60% mark this week.

Serrato said a third storm, somewhat weaker, was expected by the weekend.
