Fresno County, like other neighboring counties, is sending mail-in ballots to every registered voter for the March 5 primary. But that doesn’t mean voters have to return their ballot to county election officials by mail.

Each ballot includes a postage-paid envelope in which a voter can seal their ballot and send it back through the U.S. Postal Service, as long as it is postmarked on or before March 5 and received by elections officials by March 12.

For those who prefer to vote in person, however, early voting is already underway at the Fresno County Elections Office on Kern Street in downtown Fresno. In-person voting is available during office hours there, and on Election Day there will be extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The county will also operate more than 50 vote centers in the days or weeks before the election where people can vote in person. Most of those are four-day centers, open starting March 2 through March 5. Hours on March 2-4 will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but on Election Day the hours will be extended to 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone in line to vote at an in-person voting center when the polls close at 8 p.m. will be allowed to vote, but people arriving after 8 p.m. will be out of luck.

Some of the vote centers are 11-day centers, opening on Feb. 24. Those too will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Explore the interactive maps below to learn more about vote center locations in Fresno-Clovis and across the county.

The 4-day and 11-day vote centers will also be available for people who want to drop off their completed, sealed ballots, as long as those are delivered by 8 p.m. on March 5.

Fresno County has also set up more than 60 secure balloting boxes across the Fresno-Clovis metro area and in communities across the county where voters can drop off their completed, sealed ballots. Those locked boxes, prominently marked as official boxes, are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through 8 p.m. on March 5. County elections staff are collecting ballots on an ongoing basis from all of the boxes.

The interactive maps below indicate locations of ballot drop-off boxes the Fresno-Clovis metro area and across Fresno County.
