Ukraine says it is under attack from major Russian air strikes
Kyiv came under a massive Russian drone and missile attack early Sunday, Ukrainian authorities said, hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the U.S. embassy warned of an imminent strike.
Authorities in the capital said missile debris fell in at least three city districts, damaging mostly residential houses and vehicles. At least one person was injured and the attack is still underway, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Telegram. Air raid sirens sounded in several other regions of Ukraine, local authorities reported.
Ukraine's Air Defense issued a ballistic missile and drone strike alert, asking civilians to seek shelter. Zelenskyy said on social media earlier that Ukraine received intelligence, including from the U.S. and European partners, that Russia was preparing a ballistic missile attack on Ukraine.
