Magnitude 6.3 earthquake hits northern Japan, no tsunami warning issued
TOKYO - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 hit northern Japan on Friday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was off the coast of Miyagi prefecture at the depth of 50 kilometres, the agency said, adding that no tsunami warning had been issued.
