KYIV - Ukraine is launching an "army reform", President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday, announcing plans to increase wages for the military, strengthen the contract system and consider a phased discharge of those serving for a long time.

"In June, the reform will begin – and the first results must already be delivered in June, particularly in the area of financial support for soldiers, sergeants, and commanders of the Defence Forces of Ukraine," Zelenskiy said on the Telegram app.
