A lottery player scored a huge prize in North Carolina — and may not know it yet.

The player bought a Carolina Keno ticket that matched enough drawing numbers to be worth $100,000. The drawing was held 2:20 p.m. March 31, results show.

The winning numbers: 2-5-7-8-12-20-21-22-30-36-38-40-47-49-50-53-59-68-70-72.

So, where did the player get richer? The lucky ticket was sold at the N.C. Education Lottery’s claims center in Greensboro, lottery officials wrote on their website and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Keno is a drawing game that offers tickets starting at $1. Players can choose how many drawing numbers they want to match for a chance at prizes up to $1 million.

In each Keno drawing, 20 out of 80 numbers are chosen. While lottery officials didn’t know the specific numbers the Greensboro player matched, the person spent $20 on their lucky ticket, a spokesperson told McClatchy News via email.

As of about 9:30 a.m. April 1, the $100,000 prize hadn’t been claimed. In North Carolina, the winners of drawing games have about six months to cash in, rules show.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
