One happy pup in Indiana has something major to celebrate: His waiting is over.

Expo, a sweet dog who had spent a long 171 days in the Humane Fort Wayne shelter finally has a place (and a human) that he can call his own, the Indiana shelter said in a Facebook post.

“As you can see, Expo couldn’t stop smiling after meeting Jordan. These two instantly became best friends, and Expo was adopted!” a Aug. 20 post gleefully said.

All these days, he was “waiting for Jordan” to discover him, people in the comment section pointed out. And despite his patient ways, Expo never lost his playful ways.

“Expo has had quite a journey,” the shelter said.

The 1-year-old hound-pointer mix breed dog was one of the shelter’s longest residents, having arrived there in March.

“But Expo never lost his happy, adventurous spirit, and our staff never gave up hope that his family was out there!” the post continued.

“Expo went on many Tails on Trails adventures, enjoyed many doggie playgroups, and especially delighted in lounging in his favorite doggy pool.”

An update on how he’s liking his new home showed up in the comments as well.

“Jordan said he’s been trying all the beds in the house,” one comment said, along with a photo of Expo trying to sleep in — what looks like — a cat bed.

Fort Wayne is about a 125-mile drive northeast from Indianapolis.
