Teen crawls into cave-like opening to explore — then can’t get out, Oregon rescuers say
A teenager climbed into a cave-like crevice, then couldn’t get out without help, rescuers in Oregon said.
The teen found an opening in the ground and wanted to explore it on Monday, June, 19, in Cornelius, the local fire department said in a Twitter post.
But when they couldn’t get out, rescuers were called to help.
Firefighters got to the teen and said it was an “abnormal rescue situation.”
They helped the teenager out of the crevice, and no one was injured, firefighters said.
“While it might seem fun to explore the unknowns of the underground, please refrain from doing so,” the fire department said.
Cornelius is about 25 miles west of Portland.
