The body of a child was found in a Colorado river after the family’s boat capsized, officials said.

Around 11 a.m. on June 3, Eagle County deputies responded to the Colorado River between Burns and McCoy after they received reports of a child being separated from their family, according to a post on Facebook by the sheriff’s office.

The search and rescue team was deployed and found the child in the river, officials said.

The child was wearing a life vest and “was not responsive to CPR efforts,” deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing and the cause of death will be determined by the Eagle County Coroner’s Office, the post said.

Eagle County is about 135 miles southwest of Denver.
