Home intruder tries to shoot man, Nevada cops say. Video shows the invader’s gun fail

Update: Detectives identified 28-year-old Armondo Dangerfield as the intruder seen in the video trying to shoot another man, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. He was arrested on July 31 in Mesa, Arizona, and will be extradited to Las Vegas.

A home intruder tried to shoot at a man in Nevada, but his gun failed before his weapon could fire, police said.

Police responded to the attempted murder and a robbery around 2:30 p.m. on July 24 in Las Vegas, according to a news release.

A man had parked his car in his garage when the suspect came toward him and demanded property from him, police said.

The man ran from the intruder and was chased across the street, police said.

Video footage shows the intruder pull out his gun and try to fire it at the man.

When the gun fails to fire, the suspect runs off into the neighborhood toward a black vehicle and drives off, the video shows.

Police are looking for the man who appears to be 18 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and white athletic shoes.

He drove off in a “newer-model black sedan” with black wheels and dark tinted windows.
