Target limits how much hand sanitizer you can buy due to coronavirus shortages
Target is joining other stores, including Kroger and Publix, in limiting hand sanitizer and other sales due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The retailer is restricting hand sanitizer and other “virus-related items” to six per person, spokesperson Danielle Schumann confirmed to the Los Angeles Times. Store signs say that the limit is “due to high demand,” the outlet reported.
Target CEO Brian Cornell said there has been “aggressive shopping” at Target stores, the Times reported.
Wegmans, Tops Friendly Markets, Kroger, and Kroger-owned chains King Soopers and Fred Meyer are also limiting purchases.
“Due to high demand and to support all customers, we will be limiting the number of Sanitization, Cold and Flu related products to 5 each per order,” the message on Kroger’s website read.
Publix has restricted the purchase of some items, including sanitizer, to two of each.
Over 113,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed worldwide and more than 3,900 people have died so far, according to Johns Hopkins University.
