Supporters of Temperance Dam project rally at Millerton Lake

Agriculture industry leaders, farmers, business leaders and elected officials gathered Wednesday at Millerton Lake to push for federal funding for the Temperance Flat dam project.

The dam project, among others, is expected to be funded by the $7.5 billion Proposition 1 water bond approved last year. Supporters of the project say they will need state and federal funds to complete the dam.

Supporters say more above-ground storage is needed in the San Joaquin Valley, especially in times of drought.
