Rain-damaged chunk of Highway 50 breaks away

There have been countless eye-popping images from the seemingly relentless storms up and down California. But this one really grabbed our attention.

California Highway Patrol’s Placerville office on Monday posted on Facebook a picture of part of Highway 50, east of Bridal Veil Falls, buckled and broken away.

The CHP said Caltrans was working to repair it.

Be careful out there.
