The Department of Water Resources is holding a series of statewide meetings to collect public comment about the state’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.

One of the four meetings will be held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial Building, 808 4th St., on Nov. 16 at 4 p.m.

State officials will provide information and collect comments on a draft of a “Best Management Practices” plan.

DWR says the plan is intended to provide clarification, guidance and examples to help groundwater sustainability agencies develop the elements of a Groundwater Sustainability Plan for bringing groundwater basins into balanced levels of pumping and recharge.

The draft best management practices are available to view and download at www.water.ca.gov/groundwater/sgm/bmps.cfm.
