Fresno County recognizes residents for career program service

The Fresno County Office of Education Regional Occupational Program (ROP) recognized six community members on Wednesday for their outstanding service to local career technical education.

Fresno ROP courses and local employment needs are reviewed by more than 400 educators and business partners.

The winners of the 25th annual William F. Noli Award were:

• Clovis Fire Chief Michael Despain, who has served on the Clovis Unified School District ROP Advisory Committee since 2009.



• Martin Kamimoto, who is an automotive technology instructor for Fresno City College.



• Bill Robinson, who is retired from the Fresno Public Works Department, Construction Management Division.



• Donny Rollin, who owns a dairy and has served on the Riverdale High School ROP Advisory Committee for more than 15 years.



• Audrey Metcalf, who is the Volunteer Services Coordinator for the Fresno County Head Start Program.



• Leonard Gonzales, who is the executive director for the Laborers Training and Retraining Trust Fund of Northern California.
