Elementary-age students gain college experience at Fresno State
More than 1,000 elementary school students wrapped up a four-week program Wednesday that immersed them into the college culture at Fresno State.
Called After School University, the program utilizes college interns who are getting teaching degrees and credentials.
The elementary-age students take academic classes and electives like photography, video production, dance, cheer and even an interactive Nintendo Wii course.
Students also got to visit a mobile dairy classroom last month.
The students were from Fresno Unified, Washington Colony, Washington, Clovis, Orange Center and West Park school districts.
