Tish Rice re-elected as Fresno Teachers Association president
Tish Rice will continue to lead the Fresno Teachers Association after winning re-election on Tuesday.
Rice swept the election with 76 percent of union members’ votes, beating out fellow teacher Felicia Burrell, who serves as the FTA’s negotiation chairwoman.
Rice has worked as a teacher in the Fresno Unified School District since 1999 and was first elected as FTA president in 2014. The union has 4,000 members.
“I’m excited to have another two years to work alongside our members, our students, our parents and the community to improve public education in Fresno Unified,” Rice said Tuesday.
