Thousands of schoolchildren perform at Fresno State for Peach Blossom Festival

More than 6,000 school-age children will visit Fresno State on Thursday and Friday for the 58th annual Peach Blossom Festival of Communication, an event that showcases performing literature aloud.

The schools participating come from as far north as Livingston and as far south as Delano.

The festival is organized by the Fresno State Communications Department. Participants learn how to perform when reading before an audience. Students also learn how to be an attentive, polite audience member.

Main performances are being held in the John Wright Theatre in the Speech Arts building.
