Fresno Compact awards businesses, nonprofits for supporting education

Eight businesses and two nonprofit organizations will be honored Wednesday for their efforts to improve education in Fresno County and connect students with the business community.

The Fresno Compact awards will be presented at a luncheon. The award winners are:

  • Resource Lenders Inc.
  • Hardin-Davidson Engineering
  • Sanger Rotary Club
  • Kiwanis Club of Old Town Clovis
  • The Wonderful Co.
  • KSEE 24
  • Valley Unique Electric Inc.
  • Maricopa Orchards
  • Zumwalt Construction

The Dr. Harold Haak Award for educational excellence for building business-education partnerships will be presented to Don Ulrich, assistant superintendent of facility services for the Clovis Unified School District.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Tornino’s Banquet Hall, 5080 N. Blackstone Ave. in Fresno.

The Compact Business-Education Partnership formed 20 years ago to recognize contributions of local businesses helping to improve education in the central San Joaquin Valley. The compact is led by leaders from business, education, government and the community who support education, work-force development and economic growth.
