Genocide Museum a somber history lesson for Central High students

The horrors of genocide were brought home this week to students at Central High School and members of the public who toured an exhibit prepared by 10th-grade Modern World History students.

The Genocide Remembrance Museum, which was inspired by the “Faces of Genocide” exhibit at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles and spearheaded by history teacher Jaime Schulze, introduced each student to a genocide victim. Students received cards with a picture and story of a teenager, which they carried through the museum and then learned at the end whether the teen on the card had survived or perished.
