Porterville superintendent announces retirement

Superintendent John Snavely of Porterville Unified School District will retire July 1, the school district announced Thursday.

Snavely has served as superintendent since 2001 and has worked over 29 years at Porterville Unified and nearly 35 years in education.

“It has been my privilege and honor to serve the community of Porterville and all of southeastern Tulare County for the last 29-plus years,” Snavely said.
