Fresno Unified seeks community input on funding needs

Fresno Unified is encouraging the public to weigh in on how money should be spent in the district’s schools.

The district through next month will host several workshops at different schools, where parents, teachers, students and others can help determine where state funding is most needed. The workshops are part of the Local Control Funding Formula, which gives districts more power over how state funding is spent.

The workshops will also include an update on how students are doing academically and what programs and services are being offered.

The first meeting will be held at the Phillip J. Patiño School of Entrepreneurship at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Fresno High’s meeting will be held Jan. 19 at 5:30 p.m.; Bullard High, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.; Roosevelt High, Jan. 25 at 5:30 p.m.; Hoover High, Jan. 26 at 5:30 p.m.; Edison High, Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m., and Duncan Polytechnical High, Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m.
