New wheels for winners of ‘Walk and Roll’ Poster contest

Students from several Tulare County schools are getting a set of new wheels to ride to school every morning as part of a poster contest sponsored by the Tulare County Association of Governments.

New bicycles will be presented to five winners of the recent Walk and Roll to School poster contest at noon Monday at the Agricultural Commissioner’s Building in Tulare.

The board received more than 500 entries for the 2015 contest. The winners are: Valeria Cabrera, a first grader from FJ White Elementary School in Woodlake; Marianna Vargas, third grade, from Castle Rock Elementary, Woodlake; Thalia Bentancourt, fifth grade, from Strathmore Elementary School; Ashley Barrera, seventh grade, from Farmersville Junior High School; and Kaden Kalstrom, junior, Redwood High School.
