FUSD board delays Hanson public review to Dec. 9

The Fresno Unified school board will evaluate Superintendent Michael Hanson’s performance at its Dec. 9 meeting.

The annual review, which is routine, comes amid a federal investigation of the school district’s no-bid construction contracts overseen by Hanson. One of the contracts in question – a $37 million project with Harris Construction to build Gaston Middle School – has also landed the district in court.

The evaluation was delayed at Wednesday’s board meeting because the consultant who typically facilitates the process was unavailable. The board will publicly report Hanson’s evaluation at its meeting Dec. 9.
