Clovis Unified experiencing problems sending, receiving emails

Clovis Unified School District’s email system has been malfunctioning for the last week, causing about half of emails sent and received by district staff to be delayed.

Spokeswoman Kelly Avants said staff first started noticing the issue on Oct. 15. Technicians attempted to fix it, but the system “broke in a more significant manner” over the weekend. The district is working to migrate its email system to a new server, but this will take time given the number of email accounts involved.

No timetable for the migration was available.

In the interim, parents are asked to call their student’s school to reach teachers. The voicemail system was also affected, so responses to those may be delayed.

Avants stressed that the district is not ignoring attempts to contact staff and is working to solve the problem as soon as possible.
