Fresno Christian students lead national news engagement day
Journalism students at Fresno Christian High School encouraged their peers to keep up with current events in the second annual National News Engagement Day on Oct. 7.
Seniors Chloe Mueller and Rees Roggenstein, co-editors of The Feather Online, led an assembly held before the school’s 200 students.
The goal of the engagement day is to encourage all Americans, especially young people, to become informed so American democracy can function properly.
During the assembly, members of the Feather staff discussed different ways they report on the school community through social media and the online newspaper.
The national engagement day was started by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Teacher Greg Stobbe is the adviser to The Feather Online staff.
