Fresno’s Manchester GATE named national Blue Ribbon School

Manchester GATE Elementary School has been named a 2015 National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 29 schools in California selected for the honor.

The Fresno Unified school was recognized as a Exemplary High Performing School, meaning it performed in the top 15 percent of schools statewide on state assessments. Manchester GATE also received the honor in 2001 and 2009, and was among 335 schools across the country to be recognized this year.

“Manchester GATE’s selection as a National Blue Ribbon School reflects a history of excellence at the campus, tremendous effort by students and their families, and the highest level of instruction and care from teachers and staff,” Fresno Unified Superintendent Michael Hanson said in a news release. “Our entire district is extremely proud of this national designation.”
