Fresno State political science majors receive Democratic scholarship

Five Fresno State students were awarded more than $1,800 in scholarships Monday by the Fresno County Democratic Women’s Club through the John E. and Ida Marie Manning Scholarship.

The Manning fund began in 1993 in honor of the late John Manning, a longtime member of the organization. Since then the club has awarded more than 20 scholarships and distributed more than $16,000 to Fresno State political science students.

The 2015 recipients are Alexandra Gallo, McKencie Contreras, Ian Whitehead, Kaitlyn Sims, Jesse Ricks and Timothy Ryan.
