Madera County Compact hosts 2nd annual Manufacturing Day

As part of a statewide event on Friday, the Madera County Compact is hosting its second annual manufacturing day to expose local high school students to manufacturing careers.

Students from Chowchilla, Liberty, Madera, Minarets and Yosemite high schools will start the morning with two tours of local manufacturing companies, have lunch and then attend sessions to learn more about job opportunities.

Participating businesses include Blue Dolphin Engineering, Vulcan Materials, EVAPCO West, John Bean Technologies, Pacific Ethanol and Steel Structures.

The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Madera Community College Center, at 30277 Ave. 12, Madera.
