West Hills College Lemoore names new president
West Hills College Lemoore named a new president on Tuesday: Kristin Clark, an administrator from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa.
Clark, who served as vice president of student services at OCC, was hired by the West Hills Community College District board of trustees after a national search for a new president. The search yielded 43 candidates, and nine were interviewed for the position.
Former President Don Warkentin announced his retirement earlier this year after serving in the role for more than 10 years.
West Hills Community College Chancellor Frank Gornick said Clark “brings with her a wide variety of experiences and practices that served her well in understanding the mission of the community college, which also made her very compatible with our vision: ‘The relentless pursuit of student success.’ ”
Clark has also worked as the registrar for California National University in North Hills and has taught at Pepperdine, Golden West College and California State University, Fullerton.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in business and management from University of Phoenix, a master’s in educational technology from Pepperdine, and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.
