Officials in Kerman to discuss school attendance

A news conference will be held next week at Goldenrod Elementary School in Kerman to discuss the importance of attendance in schools.

Fresno County Superintendent Jim Yovino, Kerman Unified School District Superintendent Robert Frausto and student representatives will be in attendance.

They will share information about why attendance relates to grade level reading, high school graduation and and patterns of behavior.

The news conference will be held from 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesday.

Kerman Unified leads the county with an average daily attendance rate of 98.3 percent.
