Valley students receive scholarships from United Farm Workers

Throughout September, the United Farm Workers will distribute scholarships to children of UFW union members in California.

The first of several scholarship award ceremonies planned for this month were held Tuesday in Salinas and Madera.

The scholarship winners from the San Joaquin Valley are Octavio Garcia Farfan and Matthew Guerrero.

The ¡Si Se Puede!® scholarship program was established to support students who have excelled in education despite financial hardships.
