Mendota students to receive backpacks, school supplies

Alliance for Medical Outreach and Relief, a local community benefit organization, will give away backpacks to students in Mendota.

More than 1,300 students at Mendota and McCabe elementary schools will receive the backpacks filled with school supplies.

The backpack distribution will take place Thursday from 4:50-5:30 p.m. at Mendota and McCabe elementary schools.

The backpacks and supplies were donated by the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno.

The alliance also said it plans to open a health clinic near the schools next year.
