Author Armen Bacon named a Fresno State 2015 Top Dog

Author and education administrator Armen Derian Bacon will receive one of Fresno State’s 2015 ‘Top Dog’ awards at the Fresno State Alumni Association’s annual Awards Gala Oct. 9 at the Save Mart Center.

Bacon will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award for her literary, educational and non-profit accomplishments. She served for two decades as administrator of communications and public relations for the Fresno County Office of Education and is the author of two books. Bacon is also a featured columnist at The Fresno Bee.

She will be honored alongside other outstanding alumni from each of the University’s academic schools and colleges. The 2015 alumni awarded include: Marvin A Meyers, Robert Monke, Superior Court Judge Mark Anthony Scott, R. Elaine Mason, Kyle T. Stephenson, Robert Aguilar, Diana Gomez, Robin Johnston McGehee, Stuart Katzmann, Geraldine Tahajian, Scott Barton, Diana S. Dooley and Ryan Jacobsen.

Students will also be awarded $147,000 this year in scholarships from the association.
