Fall semester begins Tuesday at Fresno State
Fresno State’s fall semester begins on Tuesday, following a New Student Convocation held Monday at the Save Mart Center.
School officials are warning drivers of heavy traffic expected throughout the week around the main campus, located on Shaw and Maple avenues.
Several ongoing construction projects could cause delays, with roads temporarily closed on Campus Drive, Woodrow Avenue, Jackson Avenue, Barstow Avenue and Shaw Avenue.
Campus Drive is closed to north bound traffic from Barstow Avenue to San Ramon Avenue; Jackson Avenue is closed by the Student Health Center and by San Ramon Avenue and the Shaw Avenue frontage road will be temporarily closed.
Sections of sidewalks and some parking lots will also be closed.
Barricades and signage to redirect vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be displayed throughout construction areas.
