Monday marked the start of the school year for thousands of Clovis Unified students. At Harold Woods Elementary just east of Buchanan Educational Center, the children got an eye-opening greeting – a slick “welcome” video by teachers and administrators.

Michael Williamson, a fourth-grade teacher at Woods, said in a email to The Bee that “Welcome Back, You Wolverines” was filmed last week. Williamson edited it over the weekend. The music is from “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon, with custom lyrics by teacher Megan King.

The front man throughout the video is Blair Lambert, the school’s guidance instructional specialist.

The video made its debut during Monday morning’s school announcements.
