Fresno’s oldest high school unveils new gymnasium. Take a look inside

Fresno High School is the latest Fresno Unified campus to unveil a new, completed project: a 15,500-square-foot auxiliary gymnasium.

District officials revealed the new gym during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.

Superintendent Misty Her and Trustee Andy Levine, whose region includes the historic high school, attended the unveiling.

Established in 1889, Fresno High is the oldest high school in Fresno Unified.

A district spokesperson said the new gym adds eight new tennis courts that will allow Fresno High to host official tennis tournaments.

The project’s estimated $13 million cost was covered by Measure M, approved by voters in 2020.

In addition to Fresno High’s latest project, McLane High recently held a ribbon-cutting for a similar auxiliary gym. Construction is currently underway on another gym at Roosevelt.
