Clovis Community College to celebrate change to full college

Clovis Community College at Willow and International avenues in northeast Fresno will hold a ceremony to celebrate its status change from a center to a full college.

The ceremony will be held on Aug. 20 from 10-11 a.m.

In addition to unveiling the new sign and logo, the celebration will include a $25,000 check presentation to start the Leon S. Peters Honors Program at the college.

Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin and Clovis Mayor Nathan Magsig will present a joint proclamation.

California Community College Chancellor, Dr. Brice Harris, will be the keynote speaker.

With its new status, Clovis Community College will offer two athletic programs, which will be announced at the ceremony.
