Fresno student honored at Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders
A Fresno student was honored at the Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders in Boston.
Philip Canoza, a Lemoore native and a senior at University High School, attended the June 28-30 event.
The event strives to honor, inspire, motivate and direct the top students in the country who aspire to be scientists and technologists.
During the three-day Congress, Canoza joined students from across the country to hear Nobel laureates and National Medal of Science winners talk about leading scientific research.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin nominated Canoza to represent California.
At University High School, Canoza is an honor student and has been named to the dean’s list every semester.
He also helped his school win the State Academic Decathlon title for small schools.
Canoza plays violin for the University High School orchestra and trombone.
