Education Lab
What education issues do you want covered in Fresno County? Tell us in our Ed Lab survey
The Fresno Bee’s new Education Lab team is asking for your help.
You may have already read about some of our goals, but if you haven’t, here’s what you should know.
We are a team of journalists looking to spotlight education issues in Fresno and the central San Joaquin Valley.
The Ed Lab launched the survey below to get a better idea of what issues are important to residents in the Valley. We want to know what you feel are the critical issues we should be covering. All submissions are confidential, and we won’t publish any of the information shared without consent.
Our goal is to take a solutions journalism approach to tackle education reporting. To be clear, we are not activists. We are journalists. Our job is not to give communities a voice; they already have a voice. Our mission with these stories is to provide communities a megaphone. We want to create strong relationships with the communities of the central San Joaquin Valley.
We are approaching these stories a little differently than we have in the past.
We want to find new and better ways to engage with our communities. This involves a lot more in-person events and crowdsourcing for stories — as we are doing with this survey.
The survey is just the beginning of our community engagement. Always, reach out to us if you have any questions, a tip or are interested in helping us host an event in your neighborhood.
