West Hills College Coalinga welcomes new campus police officer

West Hills College Coalinga has welcomed its first campus police officer, Chris Montoya, a 12-year veteran of the Coalinga Police Department.

“I’m here to give people a sense of safety and look forward to being able to work with students,” Montoya said.

Stationed full-time on campus, Montoya will be providing campus safety services and training for staff, students and faculty, and also urged students to speak up about campus crime or questions regarding the law.

WHCC President Carole Goldsmith said Montoya’s presence would lend a sense of safety to the campus, and said that Montoya would play an integral part of the campus as a prominent resource.

Montoya’s office is in the main administration building, near the financial aid office. He can be reached at (559) 934-2202 or online at coalingapolice@whccd.edu.
