UCSF Doctors Academy celebrates local grads

Fifty-nine high school students from the central San Joaquin Valley will graduate this spring from the University of California, San Francisco Fresno Doctors Academy program, and all will attend post-secondary institutions in the fall.

Fourteen students from Caruthers, nine from Selma, and 36 from Sunnyside High School will be honored at their individual high school celebrations. Selma’s was May 7, Caruthers’ was Thursday and Sunnysid’s will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Students will be awarded both predental and medical scholar awards, as well as local community scholarships funded through sponsor donations.
