Tulare school locked down as SWAT surrounds home
Frank Kohn Elementary School in Tulare was locked down for nearly four hours Thursday while a SWAT team surrounded a house about a block away. The lockdown lasted from about 11:30 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
A Tulare police officer saw a man who was wanted for attempted murder go inside the home, police said. Officers surrounded the home, but when they searched inside, the suspect was gone. He escaped before officers had surrounded the home, said Tulare Police Chief Jerry Breckinridge.
